Governor Newsom’s proposed January budget held a promising nod to increasing efficiency amongst state housing and homelessness agencies, but included no additional investments to critical, evidence-based programs for getting and keeping people housed.

Our next Quarterly Town Hall is coming up, and we’re zooming in on the proposed budget, its implications, and effective advocacy strategies for getting more housing dollars included in the final budget in June.

On Thursday, February 13th, Housing California will be joined by Senate and Assembly budget staff, statewide legislative advocates, and the California Budget & Policy Center as we unpack the numbers, discuss new legislative developments and priority bills, and mobilize for stronger investments in housing and homelessness this year. We look forward to seeing you there!
