About the Ballot Measures
YES on Prop 1: Veterans and Affordable Housing Bond
Why? An $11.25 billion statewide bond for affordable rental homes, homeownership assistance, & veteran home loans. The largest housing bond in California history. YES on Prop 1 means safe, affordable homes for California’s veterans, low-income seniors on fixed incomes, survivors of domestic violence and their families, at risk and foster youth, working families, & people with disabilities — with strict accountability, transparency, and WITHOUT RAISING TAXES.

YES on Regional Transit Measure (RTM) Connect Bay Area
Why? The Regional Transit Measure will provide roughly $1B a year in new funding to save and support transit throughout the Bay Area with a 0.5% cent sales tax in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, and Santa Clara Counties and a 1% sales tax in San Francisco. The Regional Transit Measure will prevent cuts to service and invest in improvements to safety, cleanliness, convenience, and seamless integration of transit services. Affordable housing and transit go hand-in-hand.

NO on Prop 43: Limits voters rights, threatens housing and local services
Why? Prop 43 takes power away from voters. Prop 43 would let 1/3rd of voters block funding measures supported by 2/3rds of voters. Prop 43 makes it harder for communities to fund critical services like police and fire departments, fix and repair local roads, staff our local schools, or backfill federal healthcare cuts. Prop 43 protects corporate special interests who don’t want to pay their fair share.
