Join fellow affordable housing advocates for a day of action canvass in support of YES on Proposition 5, a historic, structural reform that would make it much easier for local communities to fund affordable homes, public transit, and other public infrastructure. This measure would lower the threshold to pass local bonds from 2/3 (66.7%), a nearly impossible requirement, to a more democratic 55% majority.
Prop 5 is neck and neck in every poll so far, meaning that any and all time spent volunteering with us could make the difference; this race will be decided by just a handful of voters.
9AM: We will be meeting at Parque de los Pobladores (1st St. & Market St. San Jose, CA 95113), with a structured volunteer training provided, along with light snacks and refreshments.
9:45AM: Head out to begin precinct walking in pairs
11:30AM: Return for debrief, and join the Together we Vote Block Party.
