All Home is organizing a major screening of a feature-length documentary, Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland.

The film is quite powerful, showcasing successful efforts to reduce homelessness across the country using a Housing First approach, along with moving first-hand accounts from people experiencing homelessness. The film is touring the country, and this will be its Bay Area premiere. The trailer for the film is here, and I also recommend watching the trailer for the impact campaign, which shows housing leaders from around the country praising the film.

The screening will be followed by a short panel with BCSH Secretary Tomiquia Moss, Joe Wilson of Hospitality House, and Cathy Eberhardt, an EBHO board member who will speak from her own experience. It will be moderated by Kevin Fagan of the SF Chronicle. The event is cosponsored by United Way of the Bay Area, East Bay Housing Organizations, the Oakland LGBTQ Center, and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.
