SV@Home is excited to invite you to the next Santa Clara County Housing Action Coalition (HAC) monthly brown bag event, featuring a discussion with:

  • Jacky Morales-Ferrand, Director of Housing, City of San Jose

This fall, the San Jose City Council will be considering a number of important housing policy issues that impact the production of new affordable housing, the preservation of existing affordable housing, and the protection of our most vulnerable community members. These issues range from ending discrimination against low-income renters to raising money to finance affordable housing developments to reducing barriers to the construction of new affordable homes.

That’s why SV@Home is thrilled that our August HAC guest is the City of San Jose’s Housing Director, Jacky Morales-Ferrand. She will provide the HAC with an overview of San Jose’s upcoming housing initiatives and how they fit together to help the city reach its affordable housing goals. Come prepared to learn, ask questions, and get fired up for supporting affordable housing policies this fall in San Jose!

The HAC is a monthly, informal brownbag discussion convening Housers to engage on hot housing topics. Every month, we select a topic or current event, bring in an expert to give a brief presentation, and then open up the discussion to ask questions, float new ideas, and identify potential areas for shared action. We want your feedback and will be looking to participants to recommend future topics you want to see addressed.

Our goal is to create a space where Housers, community leaders, and newcomers alike can chat with their peers over lunch in a relaxed environment and convert your energy and expertise into advocacy opportunities! All are welcome.

So join SV@Home and fellow Housers for an engaging discussion that you can put immediately into advocacy action!
