The Agrihood project will be heard at Santa Clara Planning Commission on Wednesday, August 8th. The Agrihood is an innovative mixed-use development that includes 165 homes for low income seniors, 146 market rate apartments, 16 middle-income apartments, and 36 townhomes. Most uniquely, the development will also include an urban farm that will be run by the residents (hence the name “Agrihood”). The community farm pays homage to the site’s historical use as the BAREC agricultural research site for UC Davis.

These are 361 units that Santa Clara desperately needs, and their location right near Westfield Valley Fair and Santana Row makes this an ideal spot for multifamily housing. SV@Home and several of our partners have endorsed the project, and you can sign on to our petition below to add your name!

If you would like to attend the planning commission meeting and speak in support, please contact mitch@svathome.org.

The agenda will be posted on Santa Clara’s site before the meeting date.
