TICKETS NOW 50% OFF! Join us at Dr. Funk in Downtown San Jose.

Join us for a special Happy Housers Happy Hour, sponsored in partnership with our friends at Equity Forward Anchor Network (EFAN)!

You’re in for a good conversation over drinks with people who care about creating a more inclusive Silicon Valley. It’s a chance to swap ideas, make new connections, and talk about how local campuses, churches, and community institutions could help open doors for more housing.

Come curious, leave connected.

Whether you’re deep in the housing world or just curious about what’s possible, this is your space to meet new people, share ideas, and be inspired.

Drink ticket and light appetizers included with ticket purchase.

On Tuesday, July 7 our TEA time virtual speaker series will continue with a virtual conversation on one of the very important facets of civic participation, Boards and Commissions in the City of San José. Moderated by Ellina Yin, a San José resident who just launched a podcast aimed at this very process, we will speak with three experts on the topic: Larisa Casillas, Program Director of Leadership Development and Advocacy at Urban Habitat, who runs the Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute in Oakland, Toni Taber, City Clerk of the City of San José, and community advocate Tamara Alvarado who throughout her career has dedicated herself to lifting up the voices of so many underrepresented groups in our community.
Together we will learn a little about the process from three distinct perspectives, City, Organizers, Residents. Followed by a Q&A discussion. This virtual event will be live streamed on Facebook live and recorded for an upcoming episode of the Only in San Jose podcast.
The TEA time speaker series which aims to Teach, Engage & Activate guests is a joint effort with the Latina Coalition of Silicon Valley, San Jose Woman’s Club, and La Raza Historical Society funded by the Santa Clara County Office of Women’s Policy, Division of Equity and Social Justice.
