JOIN US VIRTUALLY ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH 12PM

Join us for a learning session about San José’s Rent Stabilization Program and possible updates to the city’s rules on how utilities are billed in rental housing (known as Ratio Utility Billing Services, or RUBS).

We’ll break down:

  • What rent stabilization means
  • How RUBS works
  • And what these proposed changes could mean for renters and housing providers

Sunnyvale Housing and Human Services Commission is set to consider the final draft of the Housing Strategy for recommendation to council. This is the final step of a process that started in early 2017 to study and prioritize actions related to housing affordability and availability, in the categories of age-friendly housing, mobilehome parks, supply-side strategies, and demand-side strategies. The draft can be reviewed here.

SV@Home has previously provided recommendations and strategic input on the inclusionary housing priority of the Housing Strategy (which was expedited and passed in fall 2019) alongside several coalition partners, including Livable Sunnyvale and Greenbelt Alliance. We continue to be engaged in reviewing the latest draft.
