Join us on February 22nd for an in-depth discussion centering the experiences of emerging and BIPOC developers and hear from speakers and organizations that typically go underrepresented in the field. Presented in partnership with California Housing Partnership.
During this workshop you’ll hear from a roundtable of diverse developers who are navigating the choppy waters of development to bring their projects to life, and through this candid conversation, the goal is to inform next steps for aspiring developers and potential partners, as well as provoke thoughts on program/product/policy efficacy for funders with diversity and inclusion goals. We will uncover each developer’s unique path to where they are today, the resources they’ve leveraged, the barriers they’ve encountered, as well as advice and opportunities yet to come. We will also invite developer reflections on any progress in diversity, equity and inclusion in development, particularly resulting from the increased focus and investment in recent years (e.g., HCD’s SuperNOFA Emerging and Community-Based Developer set-aside, CDLAC’s BIPOC set-aside, capital for Black developers, local jurisdictions’ equity initiatives).
Through this panel, emerging and BIPOC developers are given the floor to speak their minds and established developers, funders, and policy makers alike can gain perspective on how to optimize offerings and support. RSVP today to join this important conversation!
