Fair Rents, Fair Bills: Understanding Rent & Utility Regulations

JOIN US VIRTUALLY ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH 12PM

Join us for a learning session about San José’s Rent Stabilization Program and possible updates to the city’s rules on how utilities are billed in rental housing (known as Ratio Utility Billing Services, or RUBS).

We’ll break down:

  • What rent stabilization means
  • How RUBS works
  • And what these proposed changes could mean for renters and housing providers

You’ll also learn how to share your feedback and get involved as the city considers these updates and how it can impact you.

We are pleased to participate in SV@Home Affordable Housing Month with an open house.

1 in 4 people do not know where their next meal is coming from. In Silicon Valley, 1 in 3 suffer from food insecurity. Each day, more and more youth are becoming hungry in the Bay Area.

As we continue to build community and support youth (12-24) experiencing homelessness we’ve changed from having an outreach center to offering our youth The Village Pantry. The pantry will be open twice a month for youth to obtain free food supplies (canned, packaged, non-perishable), hygiene products, clothing and other items.

You must have a ticket for the event as space is limited.

StandUp for Kids is a 100% volunteer-led nonprofit supporting Silicon Valley’s most vulnerable population and working to end the cycle of youth homelessness one life at a time.

If you cannot attend the event, please feel free to make a donation. STANDUP FOR KIDS is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization and your donation is tax deductible. Tax ID: 33-0414855.
