Interested in learning how to keep building affordable homes while keeping costs down? Then come learn all about value engineering (VE) on Thursday, January 30 via Zoom from 12:30-2PM.

What We’ll Learn VE is a systematic and iterative process that aims to reduce costs while maintaining quality by analyzing a project’s design, materials and construction methods. Through this training, attendees will gain a basic understanding of what value engineering is, how it is contemplated by different stakeholders involved, efficient design rules of thumb, and common questions that arise during the VE process.

The Experts We’ll discuss how to approach VE from various perspectives, including that of a developer, architect, construction manager, and more:

  • Moderator: Ryan VanZuylen, Senior Project Manager, San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development
  • Erin Carson, ECarson Consulting, LLC
  • Hasan Demirkol, Director of Preconstruction, Guzman Construction Group
  • Brendan Dwyer, Director of Construction Services, San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development
