The County of Santa Clara is holding a series of public meetings in February to inform the community about possible changes to the County’s Tenant Protection Ordinance. The goal of the changes is to expand protections for renters while maintaining the tools and authority that landlords need to effectively manage their properties. The changes apply to renters and property owners in unincorporated Santa Clara County.

The updated ordinance would:

  • Expand just-cause eviction protections
  • Expand relocation-assistance requirements for residential tenants
  • Expand the types of homes and units that are protected
  • Provide a process for enforcement of the regulations

County staff will hold meetings to give the unincorporated county community an opportunity to learn about the proposed changes, provide feedback and ask questions. Property owners, renters, and housing advocates are welcome at all meetings. The same material will be covered at the meetings. Join us at one of the meetings below:
