On June 4th, the Cupertino city council will hold a study session for the Vallco Specific Plan.
Join SV@Home and other advocates to make your voice heard on the importance of affordable housing on the Vallco site.
Come to Cupertino City Hall at 4:00 PM on Monday, June 4.
Vallco is a fantastic opportunity for the City of Cupertino to position itself as a regional leader in addressing our housing crisis.
That’s why SV@Home is actively participating in the Specific Plan process for the redevelopment of the defunct Vallco Shopping Mall, which has included two community charrettes convened by Opticos, a design consulting firm.
Charrette #2 wrapped up on Thursday, May 24th with opportunities for community input and discussions of the educational, economic, and transportation impacts of the proposed development.
Thanks to the engagement of SV@Home and our local advocacy partners, this charrette process included consideration of more housing: up to 3,200 homes, of which 20% would be affordable to people of all incomes and abilities.
Any alternative to the SB 35 proposal for Vallco (which includes 2402 units, of which 50% are affordable) must maintain or exceed this high level of housing and affordability.
We can’t afford to rest on our laurels. Please join us on June 4th at the Study Session to make your voice heard in support of affordable housing on the Vallco property!
