Dear Stakeholders,

The City of San Jose’s Inclusionary Housing Ordinance (IHO) requires developers of multi-family residential projects to include units that are affordable to lower-income residents. In lieu of building these affordable units, developers may select from a variety of compliance options. The IHO plays a key role in meeting the City’s response to the housing crisis. You can read more about the current ordinance on our website.

The City is considering changes to the IHO to ensure the program produces as many affordable housing units as possible for a range of household income levels.

The Housing Department is hosting an outreach meeting to discuss these potential changes to the IHO. The meeting is scheduled as follows:
