Fair Rents, Fair Bills: Understanding Rent & Utility Regulations

Join us for a learning session about San José’s Rent Stabilization Program and possible updates to the city’s rules on how utilities are billed in rental housing (known as Ratio Utility Billing Services, or RUBS).

We’ll break down:

  • What rent stabilization means
  • How RUBS works
  • And what these proposed changes could mean for renters and housing providers

You’ll also learn how to share your feedback and get involved as the city considers these updates and how it can impact you.

Call for Artist Proposals

SV@Home invites California-based artists to submit poster designs for Affordable Housing Week 2018. The theme of the event is #ItsTime4Yes, Silicon Valley.

The text for the poster must include the following:

Affordable Housing Week 2018
May 11-18, 2018

The poster size is 11” x 17” portrait format.

Submissions will be evaluated by a panel consisting of arts professionals and housing representatives. The winning entry will be printed and distributed throughout Santa Clara County. All artists submitting ideas will retain the copyright to their work.

On Friday, May 18th at 11:00 am, Affordable Housing Week will host a policy luncheon, during which the artist of the winning poster will be acknowledged.

Prizes:

SV@Home is offering three cash prizes for poster design:

First Prize:  $1000
Second Prize: $500
Third Prize: $300
