Many of our local cities are joining forces right now in a shared nexus study, the wonky and in-depth analysis that assesses the feasibility of local residential development and the potential for developers of market-rate housing to add a share of affordable homes to their buildings.

If cities require too few affordable homes or affordability that’s too shallow, they leave public benefits on the table. Too much, and developers can’t build any housing at all.

Alison Brunner

CEO, Law Foundation of Silicon Valley

Alison Brunner is the CEO of the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, a leading nonprofit that uses the law to address social injustices like poverty, inequity, displacement, and child abuse and neglect. The Law Foundation provides free legal services to over 10,000 low-income people and community members of color annually in three areas of critical need – housing, health, and children’s rights – in addition to engaging in a wide-range of systems change work. As CEO, Alison is responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and direction of the organization with a team of 80 and a $13 million budget.

For many years, Alison was the directing attorney of the Law Foundation’s mental health and health law programs, leading a team of lawyers specializing in housing and disability rights law. Alison serves on the Board of Directors of Disability Rights California. She has a B.A. from UCLA and a J.D. from Santa Clara University Law School.
