The tenant protection ordinance was introduced to the May 16, 2024 Housing, Land Use, Environment, and Transportation Committee. It is a sub-committee made up of two County Supervisors. In this case, it was Supervisor Arenas and Supervisor Simitian. You can view the staff report and the presentation on the county website. The staff report highlights the tenant protections in jurisdictions within the County and compares them to each other and what is currently provided by the State. Notable unincorporated locations include apartments in and near Stanford, Alum Rock, and Burbank neighborhoods. SV@Home supports adopting strong protections and hope that it can serve as a model ordinance to jurisdictions who have yet to adopt these protections.
