The California Legislature has tasked the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) and the Office of Planning and Research with developing recommendations related to the Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) process and methodology. To inform these recommendations, HCD is seeking input and ideas from stakeholders around the state, with the goal of submitting its findings to the Legislature by the end of this year. As part of its engagement effort, HCD is conducting a survey with questions about the Regional Housing Needs Determination and RHNA processes. Survey responses are due May 5, 2023. ABAG staff will hold a webinar on May 1 from 2-3:30 pm to share information about the HCD engagement process and provide an overview of the survey.
