The City of San Jose Planning Department is hosting 3 community meetings to discuss proposals and gather public comments on Zoning Code updates for Secondary Units (also known as Accessory Dwelling Units, or ADUs) in the City of San José.

You are welcome to attend this meeting and speak on this item. Your participation in the planning process will help us consider the community’s input. RSVP is not required but is helpful.   1. Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 5.30 p.m.- 6.30 p.m. at the Almaden Community Center

 The City is considering changes to the current Ordinance’s requirements related to lot size, setbacks, height, parking, and other requirements that may create barriers to homeowners seeking to build ADUs.

Following these community meetings, the City of San José will schedule public hearings with the Planning Commission, and Housing and Community Development Commission, prior to the City Council hearing for the above items.
