The measure to repeal the Costa Hawkins Act has been qualified to appear on the November ballot as Proposition 10. As background, the Costa Hawkins Act was enacted in 1995 to limit the ability of municipalities to impose most types of rent control regulations. Please join ULI SF to hear a discussion of what the repeal could mean across the state for property investors, landlords, managers, and tenants of existing and future homes in the midst of an historic housing crisis. Panelists are expected to cover the latest updates on the state-wide campaign efforts for and against the repeal. Hear diverse perspectives on either side of the issue and whether the measure has prompted discussion of compromise going forward.

This program is part of ULI SF’s Housing the Bay, a ULI SF member-driven initiative to foster innovative solutions to the Bay Area housing crisis in the realms of financing, building costs, policy, and the public process.
