East Bay Housing Organizations began as a series of informal, monthly brown bag lunches. Affordable housing developers, architects, advocates, city staff, and community activists gathered to discuss how to advance affordable housing in Oakland.

For our 40th Anniversary in 2024, we’re returning to our roots! In the spirit of this year’s theme, Powerful Legacy, Powerful Future, we’re launching a monthly series of virtual Lunch & Learn events, where we will learn from the past 40 years of successful advocacy to help guide us as we mobilize for future action. Events will take place virtually on the last Thursday of each month from 1-2 PM and event topics will be released quarterly.

For the fourth in our series, EBHO’s Policy Team will lead a deep dive into housing terminology and our current policy landscape. This Lunch & Learn is intended for audiences of all levels and backgrounds. Whether you’re a resident of affordable housing who is new to this space, or just need a refresher on some the many technical terms used in housing policy and advocacy, we hope to see you online!
