The Greenlining Institute’s annual Summit brings together the most important voices in the movement for racial justice and convenes over 1,000 change-makers to build momentum for transformative change.

To mark Greenlining’s 30th anniversary, we’re bringing it back to in-person in Oakland, CA for the first time since 2019. We’re thrilled to announce that stand-up comedian and director W. Kamau Bell will join us as this year’s featured speaker.

We are so excited to announce that Dolores Huerta, Founder and President of the Dolores Huerta Foundation, will be joining us for this year’s Just Future Summit on October 19-20 taking place in Oakland, CA.

For more than 50 years, Dolores Huerta has been an outspoken leader in the movements for civil rights, worker rights, and social justice. In 1962, she and Cesar Chavez founded the United Farm Workers union where she served as the Vice President and played a critical role in many of the union’s accomplishments for four decades. In 2002, she received the Puffin/Nation $100,000 prize for Creative Citizenship; which she used to establish the Dolores Huerta Foundation.

An inspiration to generations of activists, Dolores Huerta has received numerous awards: including in 2012, when former President Barack Obama bestowed Dolores with The Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States. We’re honored to have her join our outstanding line-up of speakers including W. Kamau Bell, Alicia Garza, Linda Sarsour, Mia Birdsong, Maurice Mitchell, and many, many more!
