SV@Home invites you to the January Silicon Valley Housing Action Coalition (HAC) monthly brownbag event, featuring a discussion on the San Jose General Plan Review process and its implications for housing city-wide. There are a number of housing issues the city is aiming to address through the General Plan Review, key ones include: 1) Incentivizing affordable housing development in Urban Villages; 2) Considering the elimination of Single Family zoning; 3) Expanding the residential development capacity in key areas, including the Downtown and Diridon Station Area.

Join us for a discussion featuring housing experts and members of the General Plan Task Force on these and other ciritical San Jose housing issues:

  • Aboubacar “Asn” Ndiaye, Housing and Transportation Policy Manager, Working Partnerships USA

  • Vince Rocha, Sr. Director, Housing and Community Development, Silicon Valley Leadership Group

  • Mathew Reed, Policy Manager, Silicon Valley at Home

The HAC is a monthly, informal brownbag discussion convening Housers to engage on hot housing topics. Every month, we select a topic or current event, bring in an expert to give a brief presentation, and then open up the discussion to ask questions, float new ideas, and identify potential areas for shared action. We want your feedback and will be looking to participants to recommend future topics you want to see addressed.

Our goal is to create a space where Housers, community leaders, and newcomers alike can chat with their peers over lunch in a relaxed environment and convert your energy and expertise into advocacy opportunities! All are welcome.

So join SV@Home and fellow Housers for an engaging discussion that you can put immediately into advocacy action!
