The Housing Needs of Undocumented Residents

JOIN US VIRTUALLY ON FRIDAY, JULY 25TH 12PM

Undocumented immigrants face unique and often invisible barriers to housing—exclusion from federal programs, fear of retaliation, and discriminatory screening practices.

Join us for a timely conversation on how we can break down these barriers and advance housing solutions that include everyone—regardless of immigration status.

We’ll explore:
– Why undocumented immigrants are excluded from key housing programs
– How fear and discrimination drive housing instability
– Local policies and community-based models creating real change

Happy Housers is our bimonthly happy hour where we engage elected officials, city/county staff, community members, and advocates in a relaxed setting to mix, mingle, and discuss prevalent housing topics in a laid-back setting. Each Happy Housers features an honored guest who’s making waves in the housing community. We welcome you to enjoy some food and libations! Members get a drink on us!

This Happy Housers we welcome Fahad Qurashi, South Bay Director at TechEquity Collaborative. The TechEquity Collaborative is a startup organization that educates and activates tech workers who think the Bay Area’s tech-driven economy can and should work for everyone. They believe the tech industry can be a force for broad-based opportunity rather than displacement and inequality. They focus on two issue areas: housing and workforce & labor. And they activate our community in three ways: awareness-raising, creating volunteer opportunities, and advocacy campaigns.

We hope you can join us! Remember: Members get a drink on us!
