But done wrong it can fall short, or even stop the development of new homes in its tracks. Learn how it works, and how to get it right!

Many of our local cities are joining forces right now in a shared nexus study, the wonky and in-depth analysis that assesses the feasibility of local residential development and the potential for developers of market-rate housing to add a share of affordable homes to their buildings.

If cities require too few affordable homes or affordability that’s too shallow, they leave public benefits on the table. Too much, and developers can’t build any housing at all.

Come hear about local cities that are getting it right: successfully using inclusionary housing policies to achieve mixed-income communities, generate funding to subsidize deeper levels of affordability, and gain valuable land for affordable homes!

How can we prepare and adapt to sea level rise in Moffett Park? You are invited to participate in a virtual workshop on Monday, November 30 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. Speakers include local experts such as the San Francisco Estuary Institute (SFEI), Santa Clara Valley Water, and Environmental Science Associates (ESA).

Learn about existing environmental conditions in Moffett Park, regional sea level rise efforts, and potential strategies for planning and adaption. The presentation will also be followed by an interactive round table discussion and study session hosted by City Council, where council members will respond and engage directly with members of the Specific Plan Update project team.

This workshop will be held digitally in keeping with the latest public health mandates. For those unable to attend the live event, a recording of the forum will be available on the project website the following day.
