JOIN US VIRTUALLY ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH 12PM

Join us for a learning session about San José’s Rent Stabilization Program and possible updates to the city’s rules on how utilities are billed in rental housing (known as Ratio Utility Billing Services, or RUBS).

We’ll break down:

  • What rent stabilization means
  • How RUBS works
  • And what these proposed changes could mean for renters and housing providers

You’ll also learn how to share your feedback and get involved as the city considers these updates and how it can impact you.

About this Event

Thinking about building a second unit for your aging parents or adult children? Thinking about getting extra income from your home? Thinking about renting a place closer to work? Heard about ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Unit, aka “Granny flat”) but wonder how you could add one in your back yard?

Come and join Palo Alto Forward’s 3rd annual ADU Workshop where a panel of renowned local architects- Judith Wasserman, Phoebe Bressack, and Jessica Resmini will be at hand to share their ADU stories and experience. We will walk you through the steps of creating/converting an ADU and share successes and pitfalls to avoid.

This workshop is designed to help homeowners explore ADU opportunities and navigate the process. Not a homeowner? No problem. Come and hear what’s brewing in the rental pipelines.
