On Tuesday August 7th, the San Jose City Council will decide whether or not to put a $950 million bond on the November ballot to fund public safety, infrastructure, and affordable housing for working families, veterans, and homeless individuals. Of the proposed amount, at least $250 million will go towards affordable housing.
These crucial funds will help create financing opportunities to increase the city’s housing supply, so it is critical that supporters of affordable housing show up to the Tuesday, August 7th San Jose City Council meeting in support. The item will likely be heard very early in the meeting—soon after the meeting begins at 1:30.
SV@Home will also be writing a letter of support for the affordable housing funding included in the bond. If you would like to sign on, please reach out to David Meyer at david@siliconvalleyathome.org
