Getting Inclusionary Housing Right

JOIN US VIRTUALLY ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24TH 12PM

Cities across Santa Clara County are considering this powerful tool to build more new affordable homes without subsidy.

But done wrong it can fall short, or even stop the development of new homes in its tracks. Learn how it works, and how to get it right!

Many of our local cities are joining forces right now in a shared nexus study, the wonky and in-depth analysis that assesses the feasibility of local residential development and the potential for developers of market-rate housing to add a share of affordable homes to their buildings.

If cities require too few affordable homes or affordability that’s too shallow, they leave public benefits on the table. Too much, and developers can’t build any housing at all.

Come hear about local cities that are getting it right: successfully using inclusionary housing policies to achieve mixed-income communities, generate funding to subsidize deeper levels of affordability, and gain valuable land for affordable homes!

During the last two summers we provided a new workshop series on asset and property management due to member requests. We’re proud to bring back the series this summer and you can find past sessions here.

Join us on July 27th for an in-depth training session to learn how to improve communication and relationships with staff and residents of affordable housing.

Why does emotional intelligence (EI) matter, and how might it improve your ability to connect, achieve and inspire staff and residents across your organization? This helpful workshop will help you develop important skills around communicating with emotional intelligence so that you can hone your capacity to interact, communicate and collaborate successfully with all types of people. Those who cultivate high emotional intelligence skills can position themselves for personal, team, and organizational success, and are more adept at using empathy and constructive communication to create a collaborative, cooperative environment at work and on-site at properties.

If you’re looking for a way to improve your relationships across your organization, understand how and why others behave the way they do and achieve greater success in all your job-related endeavors, then join us on July 27th for this informative workshop. See you then!
