Join SPUR and Partnership for the Bay’s Future to explore the pathways currently being carved out when experts from the public, private and nonprofit sectors illuminate the pioneering initiatives and steadfast support mechanisms championing the inclusion and success of BIPOC developers in shaping the housing landscape.

Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) housing developers have historically been kept out of the real estate development ecosystem through exclusionary hiring practices, and discriminatory patterns that place barriers to capital access and economic mobility for people of color.

Our panelists will share their personal journeys, revealing the hurdles they’ve transcended and the successes they’ve celebrated in forging spaces for BIPOC voices. The enriching discourse will cover overcoming financial barriers, creating inclusive community alliances, and navigating the complexities of policy and investment that have long sidelined minority developers. Attendees will emerge with enriched perspectives on the power of policy reform, strategic investment, and community solidarity in dismantling systemic barriers and cultivating a more inclusive, equitable future in housing.
