Bay Area Housing Shortage: Seeking Solutions
The Bay Area is experiencing a housing shortage of epic proportions. Approximately 20 new jobs are created in the region for every new home, and this imbalance is affecting residents of all income levels.
Join SVCF at this free community event which will feature a lively discussion about the true causes of the Bay Area housing shortage, its wide-ranging impact on all of us and what’s being done to solve it.
Chair of the Assembly Housing and Community Development Committee Assemblymember David Chiu will kick off the conversation by providing keynote remarks. He will then join Pilar Lorenzana among other representatives from the local government, nonprofit housing advocacy, and academic research sectors in a moderated discussion to explore the true reasons for our housing gridlock and what can be done to create more housing for everyone.
Following the program, we will gather for an afternoon reception with food, drink, exhibits, and networking opportunities.
