Q1’s Developer Roundtable: West Valley Cities Step Up for Housing

Share:

SV@Home brought together developers and city leaders from across the West Valley to tackle one of our region’s biggest challenges—building more affordable housing. With strong engagement from local jurisdictions and lively discussion on funding, policies, and project opportunities, the event reinforced the power of collaboration in meeting our housing goals.

On February 27th, SV@Home hosted a Developer Roundtable at the Campbell Community Center, convening multiple cities’ staff and housing developers to explore solutions for increasing affordable housing production in the West Valley. Representatives from Campbell, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Saratoga, and Monte Sereno shared updates on their housing programs, available sites, and funding strategies, setting the stage for meaningful collaboration to address the need for affordable housing in Silicon Valley. A big thank you to the City of Campbell for hosting and to all the participating cities for their openness and enthusiasm in advancing new development.

As a regional convener, SV@Home plays a key role in connecting developers with cities to problem-solve and move projects forward. The discussion underscored the importance of coordinated efforts to meet Housing Element (HE) obligations, reduce entitlement barriers, and leverage creative funding solutions. Cities expressed a real commitment to facilitating new housing and developers walked away with valuable insights and connections to help make projects happen.

For those who were unable to attend, you missed a valuable opportunity to engage directly with decision-makers, provide feedback, and learn about emerging opportunities in the West Valley. But don’t worry—SV@Home remains committed to creating spaces for these important conversations, ensuring that housing continues to be a top priority across our communities. Stay tuned for more ways to get involved.
