On March 10th, the City of San Jose published the 2026-2027 Mayor’s March Budget Message. This document contains proposed policy direction and a budget framework, which Council will consider during their regular meeting on March 17th. During consideration, councilmembers will propose modifications, and ultimately adopt a final version of the Message that will provide direction to City staff on creating a budget for the coming fiscal year.
Come to City Hall on March 17th to speak out for housing, and join advocates for housing affordability at a Budget Party in the Rotunda! More details below.
We believe budgets should reflect the values and needs of residents. SV@Home and many of our partner organizations will continue to meet with councilmembers and their staff throughout the budget process to uplift our communities’ housing needs and support the City’s longstanding commitment to affordable housing production and preservation, tenant protections, and homelessness prevention.
Stay connected with us as we continue to provide updates on the budget as it progresses toward final adoption in June.
