Land and Funding Opportunities
Explore these new funding sources for affordable housing development:
- Homekey+ and Tribal Homekey+
- The State of California has launched two parallel funding programs to expand Permanent Supportive Housing for individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness with behavioral health challenges. The Homekey+ NOFA provides $2.145 billion for projects serving veterans and other individuals with behavioral health needs, and the Tribal Homekey+ NOFA allocates $121 million specifically for Tribes and Tribal Entities.
- Prop 1: $11.25 Billion Veterans & Affordable Housing Bond
- This November, California voters will consider Proposition 1, an $11.25 billion housing bond that would provide $10 billion for affordable housing construction, acquisition, rehabilitation, and preservation, including new investments in programs like the Multifamily Housing Program. With the potential to provide a major new source of funding for California’s affordable housing pipeline, developers are encouraged to learn more about the measure and stay engaged as November approaches.
- NEW: Housing Trust Silicon Valley’s RFI For Apple Affordable Housing Fund
- Housing Trust Silicon Valley is accepting responses to the 2026 Apple Affordable Housing Fund RFI, which will provide loans to qualified developers to help move forward affordable housing projects in the greater Bay Area. The Fund is seeking projects that will be shovel ready on or before December 31, 2027. Developers interested in being considered should review the RFI’s threshold and selection criteria and submit responses by Thursday, October 1 at 5:00 PM.
