Mariela Lopez

My name is Mariela, and I’m a Bay Area native and UC Berkeley graduate. I now call Oakland my home, where I live with my two cats. My career has been driven by a passion for creating meaningful change. I’ve worked in nonprofits dedicated to human rights, sustainability, and poverty alleviation, and I’ve also spent time in corporate marketing for a hospitality conglomerate. That experience gave me invaluable perspective on how to combine strategy, storytelling, and design to build strong initiatives—and it reinforced the importance of aligning mission-driven work with efficiency and scalability.

Outside of work, I’ve been a dance instructor for many years, an avid reader, and a bass guitar player. I’m deeply committed to amplifying the causes that matter close to home. I aim to bridge the gap between purpose and execution, ensuring that great ideas are not only heard but also effectively implemented for lasting impact.
