SV@Home invites you to the November Silicon Valley Housing Action Coalition (HAC) monthly brownbag event, featuring a discussion on Opportunity Zones. Opportunity Zones were created by the federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 (colloquially known as the Trump Tax Plan). The program created tax incentives for businesses that invest in economically distressed communities. To discuss the implications for housing development, we will be joined by:

  • Paul Ring, Executive Vice President – Development and Construction, Urban Catalyst

The HAC is a monthly, informal brownbag discussion convening Housers to engage on hot housing topics. Every month, we select a topic or current event, bring in an expert to give a brief presentation, and then open up the discussion to ask questions, float new ideas, and identify potential areas for shared action. We want your feedback and will be looking to participants to recommend future topics you want to see addressed.

Our goal is to create a space where Housers, community leaders, and newcomers alike can chat with their peers over lunch in a relaxed environment and convert your energy and expertise into advocacy opportunities! All are welcome.

So join SV@Home and fellow Housers for an engaging discussion that you can put immediately into advocacy action!
