Join us and our co-hosts to find out where candidates for San José Mayor stand on the housing crisis — and solutions. Live Spanish and Vietnamese interpretation will be provided.
The SV@Home Action Fund and more than a dozen partner organizations are excited to bring you our 2022 Primary Candidate Forum Series! Our five Forums will provide an opportunity for residents to learn more about the candidates in the primary elections for open seats in the State Senate, County Board of Supervisors, and City of San José, focusing exclusively on the most pressing issue in our region: affordable housing and homelessness.
This Forum features primary candidates for San José Mayor.
With so many members of our community experiencing unfair housing, rent-burden, overcrowding, eviction, and homelessness, it’s essential for voters to hear how aspiring elected officials plan to solve these problems. Mayor Sam Liccardo is terming-out, and several candidates are vying to become the next Mayor of San José. This forum will provide valuable insights into how those candidates plan to create a future San José that is more equitable and sustainable, where everyone has a safe, stable, affordable home.
This event will be moderated by Maggie Angst from the San José Mercury News.
Candidates confirmed to participate:
- Cindy Chavez
- Dev Davis
- Matt Mahan
- Raul Peralez
- Jim Spence
- Marshall Allen Woodmansee
Joining the SV@Home Action Fund as co-hosts are: the Black Leadership Kitchen Cabinet, the Billy DeFrank LGBTQ+ Community Center, California YIMBY, Destination: Home, Housing Choices, the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, LEAD Filipino, Momentum for Health, the San José / Silicon Valley NAACP, Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Silicon Valley Council of Nonprofits, South Bay YIMBY, Student Homeless Alliance, Streets for People, United Way Bay Area, Urban Environmentalists, the Vietnamese American Roundtable, and YIMBY Action.
