How can housing experts and health professionals work together to advocate for equitable housing policies?

Kiana Bess, Anthony Nardone, and Angela Jenkins will join us as we explore how housing policies impact our health and health inequities. We will also discuss how housing and health advocates and professionals can work together to support equitable housing policies.

Kiana Bess is a Doctoral Student at the University of Michigan in the Department of Health Behavior Health Education in the School of Public Health. Broadly, her research focuses on examining the structural and social determinant of health pathways, such as housing, that influence child and adolescent health outcomes.

Anthony Nardone is a Medical Student in the UC Berkley-UCSF Joint Medical Program. His research has focused on social determinants of health, environmental health, and health equity. He recently examined the associations between historical redlining and health outcomes today.

Angela Jenkins has been a leader at Kaiser Permanente for 20 years. She is currently the Senior Director of Community Health Strategy and Operations for Kaiser Permanente’s implementing regional and national efforts that address equity, social justice, policy, and systems change initiatives.
