San Jose Leaders Put $450M Bond on November Ballot

On August 10th, San Jose City leaders took action to place two bond measures on the November ballot, one that includes $450 million for affordable housing and a second, $650 million bond measure for public safety, transportation infrastructure, and flood and water control projects.

Early registration is required for SV@Home’s September 12 Lunchtime Forum: How is Affordable Housing Financed, which will be held for the first time at Texas Instruments in Santa Clara.

HCD Announces Housing Accountability Actions

The State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) just announced a new process to hold local governments accountable for providing housing for their residents, consistent with the provisions of Assembly Bill 72 (Santiago, 2017).

The Los Gatos Town Council discussed major affordable housing opportunities during its regularly scheduled meeting on August 7th—the Affordable Housing Overlay Zone (AHOZ) tool, the North 40 Specific Plan, and a proposed extension of a moratorium.  Here is a quick recap of the Council’s actions.
