Through an equity lens, our dynamic panel will discuss major regional housing and transportation-related efforts that will be impacting our local communities throughout the Bay Area and how we can ensure they will benefit us. Learn about the victories and losses of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s Transit-Oriented Communities Policy adopted in late 2022, the Bay Area Housing Finance Authority’s regional ballot measure coming to voters in 2024, and the transit fiscal cliff. We will also highlight the Housing Element’s opportunities and shortcomings of locating affordable housing in “high resourced”, exclusive, transit poor, suburban areas.
