SV@Home is excited to invite you to the next Santa Clara County Housing Action Coalition (HAC) monthly brown bag event, featuring a discussion with:
- Georgette Bhathena, Director, Partnership for the Bay’s Future
- Nicole Taylor, President and CEO of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation
- Ain Bailey, Policy Fund Initiative Officer, Partnership for the Bay’s Future
- Quency Phillips, Community Engagement Manager, LISC
The Partnership for the Bay’s Future is a collaborative regional effort to address the Bay Area’s pressing housing challenges. Its goal is to increase affordable housing and ensure vibrant communities of racial equity and economic inclusion. The Partnership is being launched with the support of the San Francisco Foundation, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, the Ford Foundation, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), Facebook, Genentech, Kaiser Permanente, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
The collaborative effort aims to expand and protect the homes of up to 175,000 households over the next five years, and preserve and produce more than 8,000 homes over the next five to 10 years. Their work is being launched by two new efforts aimed at strengthening protections for residents and increasing housing production: an Investment Fund and a Policy Fund.
The HAC is a monthly, informal brownbag discussion convening Housers to engage on hot housing topics. Every month, we select a topic or current event, bring in an expert to give a brief presentation, and then open up the discussion to ask questions, float new ideas, and identify potential areas for shared action. We want your feedback and will be looking to participants to recommend future topics you want to see addressed.
Our goal is to create a space where Housers, community leaders, and newcomers alike can chat with their peers over lunch in a relaxed environment and convert your energy and expertise into advocacy opportunities! All are welcome.
So join SV@Home and fellow Housers for an engaging discussion that you can put immediately into advocacy action!
