Funding Opportunities

Explore these new funding sources for affordable housing development:

  • San Jose Rolling RFP
    • The City of San José has launched a rolling RFP for its Gap Financing Program, accompanied by updated underwriting guidelines. Projects submitted will be publicly scored, with top proposals prioritized for funding and the remainder added to a new waitlist.
  • Homekey+ and Tribal Homekey+
    • The State of California has launched two parallel funding programs to expand Permanent Supportive Housing for individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness with behavioral health challenges. The Homekey+ NOFA provides $2.145 billion for projects serving veterans and other individuals with behavioral health needs, and the Tribal Homekey+ NOFA allocates $121 million specifically for Tribes and Tribal Entities.

    • At SV@Home, we are committed to providing developers with the resources necessary to effectively train staff on how to respond to potential ICE raids. Here we have compiled a list of available resources to help navigate these challenges.
  • NEW: Brick by Brick Fellowship – Nominations Now Open
    • SV@Home is now accepting nominations for the second annual Brick by Brick Fellowship, a leadership development program designed for early career affordable housing professionals from low-income backgrounds and communities of color. The fellowship provides participants with hands-on learning, professional development, and opportunities to build the skills and relationships needed to advance housing justice and equity centered systems change in Santa Clara County. Nominations are open through June 26, 2026.
  • NEW: Terner Center: Proposed Changes to CalAIM Could Impede Efforts to Address Homelessness
    • The Terner Center’s latest analysis examines proposed changes to CalAIM that could limit funding for supportive services in Permanent Supportive Housing, raising concerns about long-term housing stability for people exiting homelessness. The report explores how Housing Tenancy and Sustaining Services (HTSS) have helped providers support residents, improve outcomes, and strengthen housing-health partnerships, and what may be at risk if eligibility is curtailed.
  • NEW: 2026 Official State Income Limits Now Available
    • The California Department of Housing and Community Development has released the 2026 Official State Income Limits, which became effective on May 29, 2026. These annual updates are used to determine eligibility and affordability requirements across a wide range of state, federal, and local housing programs, and include guidance on methodology, implementation, and FAQ’s for housing practitioners.
